FEAR NOT

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. – Isaiah 41:10

One of the most recurring themes in the Bible is the phrase: ‘Fear Not’ or ‘Be not afraid’. It is as though God is constantly reminding us that we need not be afraid, no matter the situation. Fear is a vote of ‘no confidence’ in God. Fear is a destroyer of faith and you cannot mix faith with fear. Actually, fear is a form of believing; a belief in False Experiences Appearing Real. Other words for fear include worry, anxiety, nervousness, panic and horror. Fear is also a spirit of torment and the Bible says that God has not given us the spirit of fear. (1 John 4:18, 2 Timothy 1:7).

Where does fear come from? Every believer has three main enemies which are: the world, the flesh and the devil. And every one of these can be a source of fear. If you spend all your time downloading worldly content into your soul, you will end up exposing yourself to fear and worry. Rather, you need to spend ample time meditating on the Word of God and watching/listening to the anointed teaching of the Word. Fear is never acceptable; a believer has no business with watching horror movies! You should spend more time focusing on the Word than you spend watching worldly TV. When you focus on God, your faith grows and divine light dominates your path in life (Psalm 34:5, Psalm 16:8-11).

Confession: God has not given me a spirit of fear. I refuse to fear or worry. I have received the spirit of power, love and a sound mind. I have a sound mind and I keep it sound my exposing myself to the Word daily, in Jesus’ Name.
