FAITH IS NOW

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. – Hebrews 11:1-3

Many Christians believe that they have faith, and rightly so; after all, they are believers in the Lord Jesus. However, many times, Christians confuse hope for faith. They pray and hope that God answers. They hope that God heals them. They hope that God provides their needs. Human hope is based on optimism (best wishes) but the God-kind of faith is based on God’s faithfulness to His Word. Hope is future while faith is now. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Faith is being sure! It calls those things which be not as though they were (Hebrews 11:6, Romans 4:17).

You cannot have faith without knowing what God has said in His Word. Faith is not based on man’s opinion or speculation. Faith comes by hearing the Word! It is your understanding of what God has promised in His Word that determines your confidence in making a demand of it. For example, when you understand that by His stripes, you are healed (Isaiah 53:5), you have substance to boldly make a claim to healing. Faith is now! Whatever things you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them now and you shall have them in due time (Romans 10:17, Mark 11:24)

Prayer: Dear Father, thank You for Your holy written Word and for all the precious promises You have provided for me therein. I have confidence in Your Word, and I rejoice in my ability to change my world through faith, in Jesus’ Name.
