Title: *|FNAME|*, Prayer Is The Key

Dear *|FNAME|*,

The Lord will deliver you from all evil. He will set your feet upon a rock: steadying your footsteps and establishing your path (Psalm 40:2).

Have you ever wondered why you have to pray? Why is it not sufficient to depend on your intelligence, diligence and abilities to make it through life? Prayer is a demonstration of your dependence on God! You were never created to make it on your own. God created you to live in fellowship and partnership with Him. This means that you can never fulfil your destiny in Christ without a lifestyle of active prayer (Romans 11:36). 

*|FNAME|*, why is a consistent prayer lifestyle important for you? It is because you have an adversary called the devil (John 10:10). Prayer helps you to cooperate with God and give Him permission to act in your life, home, church, local community, nation and world. The forces of darkness are ever seeking to dominate the hearts and affairs of men. It is only through persistent, fervent and believing prayer that we break their power and thwart their manipulations (James 5:16).

It is commonly said that ‘a prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian’. *|FNAME|*, do not be deceived: the depth of your prayer life is a barometer of your spiritual maturity. Your attitude towards prayer meetings reflects how much you love God and enjoy being in His presence. The true test of love is ‘attention and devotion’. It is not enough to talk the talk (by saying that you love God); you also have to walk the walk (by standing in the place of prayer with other believers as often as you have the opportunity).

*|FNAME|*, you cannot consistently walk in God’s will without prayer. Your prayer life today is your guarantee against overcoming temptation (pressures, difficulties and challenges) tomorrow. Stop neglecting your quiet time with God daily. Stop neglecting prayer before service. Stop neglecting prayer meetings. The spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak: that is why you have to pray (Matthew 26:41). Prayer is the key that unlocks victory over temptation.
