Title: *|FNAME|*, Secure Your Blessing!
Dear *|FNAME|*,
The Lord is your strength and shield; your ever present help in times of need. As you persevere in trusting and obeying Him, He will surely lead you into your promised land (Psalm 46:1).
When God created man, He also pronounced upon him The Blessing (Genesis 1:28). What is The Blessing? It is a divine empowerment to function and prosper. This reveals God’s perfect will for your life. God wants you to function and prosper in His will. He wants you to be productive and effective. It was God that planted and put Adam in The Garden of Eden: a place of paradise (Genesis 2:8-9). The Garden of Eden reflects what everyone is seeking. All your ambitions, desires and labour are targeted towards achieving peace, comfort, happiness and security. However, it is important to note that God already provided all these for Adam before he ever asked for it. Don’t ever forget that only God is the source of lasting peace and prosperity.
*|FNAME|*, how can you secure the blessing? In order to answer this question, we need to take a closer look at what happened to man in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:15-17). Notice that when God put man in paradise, he was told to tend and guard and keep it. Don’t ever walk away with the impression that when God blesses you, it will last forever irrespective of what you do. No! You have a responsibility before God to maintain and secure your blessing. And the key to securing your blessing is connected to the two trees in the centre of the Garden. One is the tree of life and the other is the tree of death. The choices you make will determine whether you sustain or block your flow of Blessing (Deuteronomy 30:19-20).
Securing the blessing is a tale of two trees. What are you choosing daily through your words and actions? Are you choosing life or death? Wisdom or smartness? Humility or pride? Self-sacrifice or self-centredness? Submission or rebellion? Faith or unbelief? Obedience or disobedience? Adam and Eve lost the Garden of Eden because they refused to give back to God one tree out of all the trees he had provided for them. Your ability to give back to God a reasonable percentage of what He gave you is proof that you trust and love Him. The proof of faith and love is commitment! Giving back to God a reasonable percentage of your time, skills and money is the master key to securing your blessing.
*|FNAME|*, can a man rob God? Malachi 3:8-12 shows that when you withhold your ‘tithes and offerings’ from the church, you are robbing God. You can rob God of what is due to Him but you cannot cheat God! Those who rob God are only hitting their heads against the wall; they are actively cutting themselves off from The Blessing. Tithing (giving at least 10% of your income to the Lord) defines your financial partnership with God. If you want to break the back of poverty and conquer financial insecurity, be consistent in tithing. God dares you to do it and prove Him! When you partner with God, He promises to rebuke the devourer for your sake. Do you trust God as your source? Do you love God and the advancement of His Kingdom? Tithing is the master key to securing your financial blessing.
