Where does good originally come from?
- Good comes from God: the Father of Light, James 1:17-18
- God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all, 1 John 1:5
- If there is darkness, something has gone wrong on the side of the created being. This usually involves carelessness and disobedience
- Spiritual Light is the foundation of everything good, John 1:4-5
- The gift of God is eternal life, Romans 6:23
Where does evil originally come from?
- Evil comes from sin (rebellion against God)
- Evil comes from spiritual darkness
- Spiritual darkness is the foundation of everything evil
- The wages of sin is death, Romans 6:23
If Lucifer was created perfect, where did sin come from?
- Sin is a product of free will
- Sin is the exaltation of self above God!
- Sin is a created being choosing themselves above their creator
- Satan was the first to rebel; he is the father of darkness!
Why did God give us free will?
- Free will enables you to love and fellowship with God
- If you can’t choose, you can’t love
- Free will also enables you to rebel and disobey God
- Spiritual life is choosing God above self
- Spiritual death is choosing self above God
If God is perfect, where did the darkness come from in Genesis 1:2?
- Darkness is a judgement of sin!
- The chaos and darkness seen in Genesis 1:2 was a consequence of the fall of Lucifer
How can I overcome darkness?
- Receive the gift of eternal life by accepting Jesus Christ as your one and only Lord and Saviour, Romans 6:23, 10:9-10
- Walk in the light of God’s Word!
- If the darkness is overcoming your light, then your light is not shinning
