What is the output of my embracing God’s love?
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
- Love for God!
- Do you love God? Does it show in your attitude towards the things of God in terms of time, talents, energy and money?
- Love for others!
- Do you love others? Are you sacrificing for others? Are you reaching out to be a blessing?
- Mark 12:28-34
- Love is the way to victory!
What is my motivation for walking in God’s love?
- A desire to please/honour/obey/glorify God!
- Hebrews 11:6
- A desire to bless others in accordance with God’s will
- A desire to see people saved, healed, delivered and transformed
- The sacrificing of your self so that God can be glorified
- The laying down of your rights so that God’s will can be done
What is the opposite of God’s love?
- Selfishness!
- The pursuit of self above God is always the origin of all evil
- Only God is righteous; your righteousness is not in yourself but by faith in Him
- Romans 3:10-12
- The pursuit of God above self is the foundation of all good
- Selfishness always produces the works of the flesh, Galatians 5:19-21
- Pride is selfishness; laziness is selfishness!
How can I transform difficult relationships?
- Give love by faith
- Focus on giving rather than receiving
- Walking in God’s love requires humility, wisdom and perseverance
- God’s love ever gives, forgives and outlives
- If you give, you will end up receiving (It’s a divine principle)
- Luke 6:38
What are the characteristics of walking in God’s love?
- Faith and faithfulness
- Humility and obedience
- Quick repentance
- Quick forgiveness
- Seeking the best interests of others
- Bearing with the weaknesses of others
- Being a good model to others
- Mentoring others in the way of righteousness
- Giving generously (includes faithful tithing)
- Taking responsibility and being responsible
- Devotion and service to God
- Perseverance in doing good
