What is the meaning of first love?
- First love indicates what you love and treasure most!
- Your first love is what gets your best attention, anyday and anytime
- Your first love is what gets your best priority, day in and day out!
- Your first love can be seen and measured in your words and actions, daily
- What do you care about most, what do you sacrifice for most, what are you not prepared to compromise with most, what do you spend your time/energy/money on most?
- What are you living for? What are you prepared to die for?, Philippians 1:21
- Is Jesus Christ (still) your first love? Revelation 2:4-5
- Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also, Matthew 6:21
What causes my love to wax cold?
- Your love waxes cold when it is replaced by the love for other things!, 1 John 2:15-17
- Your love waxes cold when you begin to take the object of your love for granted
- Your love waxes cold when you allow offence to enter and remain in your spirit!
- Your love waxes cold when you lose focus and become distracted
- Distraction is the master tool of seduction and deception!
- Your love waxes cold when you lose focus and succumb to pressure, Romans 8:37
- Is Jesus Christ (still) your first love? Revelation 2:4-5
What are the signs that my love for God has waxed cold?
- Your take God for granted!
- Your attendance and punctuality at church meetings is low
- Your are not faithful in tithing and generous giving!
- Your have no passion to preach the gospel to others
- You are more committed to making money than serving God!
- You are more committed to worldly possessions, achievements, fun and pleasure than to consecration, fellowship, service and fruitfulness to the Lord
- You are more motivated by material things rather than spiritual things!
- You pay more attention to outward beauty rather than inner beauty (You practice excessive/effeminate/extreme adornment), 1 Timothy 2:9-10
How can I rekindle my love?
- You need to be willing
- You need to repent and go back to your first works
- You need to humble yourself
- You need to appreciate what God has given and be grateful/thankful
- You need to live by faith, walk in love and persevere in hope
- You need to spend quality time with the object of your love
- You need to invest yourself in acts of service to the object of your love
- You need to persevere in doing good and never give up
