What is faith?
- Faith is assurance; Faith is conviction!
- Hebrews 11:1, ESV
- Your convictions reflect your belief system
- Your values reflect your belief system
What is faith in God?
- Faith is the assurance of God’s realities
- Faith is the conviction of God’s realities
- No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known, John 1:18, NIV
- The Word of God reveals the realities of God
- Jesus Christ is the living Word of God, John 1:1-3
- Faith is conviction about spiritual realities; God is a Spirit
- Spiritual realities produce material realities!
- The spiritual realm is much greater than the physical realm
Where does the assurance/conviction of God’s realities come from?
- The Word of God, John 1:1
- The Word is Truth, John 17:17
- The Word created everything, John 1:3
- The Word is the seed that produces the harvest, Luke 8:11
What is the substance/evidence of my faith in God?
- The Word of God; the Word is Truth!
- The Word of God reveals to you the realities of God
- The evidence of your paid salary is your Bank Statement
- The evidence of faith is your God Statement
- Your God statement is the Word of God applied to your life
What is the foundation of my faith in God?
- The Word of God; the Word is Truth
- Your Bible is the written Word of God
- Your Bible is the basis of your faith
- Your Bible is the true account of what God has said and done throughout the ages (~4,000 years of human history)
- Your Bible reveals who God is and what you can expect from Him; it reveals the laws of the spiritual that govern the laws of the material
- Your faith increases as you give your attention and priority to the Word
