What is faith?
- Faith is assurance and conviction!, Hebrews 11:1, ESV
- Your assurance and conviction comes from the Word of God
- The Word of God is the substance and evidence of faith
- The written Word of God is a legal document in the spirit
- Faith is confidence in and dependence on God’s Word
- Proverbs 3:5-12
How does faith work?
- Faith works by obedience (corresponding actions)!
- James 2:14-26, Hebrews 11:7-10
- Your faith is demonstrated by your walking in the light of the Word
- Faith means that you live as though God is right there (present and active), Hebrews 11:6
- Obedience usually involves humility and perseverance, Hebrews 10:35
- Faith without corresponding actions is dead!
- The obedience (corresponding actions) of faith usually requires sacrificial actions from you!
- You sacrifice first, then you get supernatural results later
If I’m believing God for financial stability and breakthrough, what should I do?
- You have to put God first by paying your tithe faithfully and promptly (the law of honour!), Proverbs 3:9-10
- The tithe is 10% of all your income, given unto the Lord as a minimum seed for the running and expansion of His kingdom on this earth
- You pay your tithe as soon as you receive any income, Leviticus 27:30-31
- Under the O.T, the tithe is holy and it belongs to God. It is paid to God via His Temple, Malachi 3:8-12
- Under the N.T, the tithe belongs to Jesus, and it paid via His Body (the Church), after the order of Melchizedek, Hebrews 7
- The Law of tithing is your tutor towards generous giving, Galatians 3:24-25, NKJV
- Tithing is the minimum level of generous giving, 2 Corinthians 9:6
- To withhold your tithe is to steal God’s money according to Malachi 3:8-9
- Those who try to rob God are effectively robbing themselves of His blessings in all aspects of life
- The scriptures cannot be broken!, John 10:35
- Those who withhold their tithe are effectively kicking God out of their finances, thereby opening the door for the devourer to come in
If I’m believing God for uncommon breakthrough in a difficult situation, what should I do?
- Honour and appreciate the man of God in your life, 1 Timothy 5:17-18
- If you’re being taught and mentored well by your Pastor (man of God), you ought to appreciate him with humility and generosity (financial gift offerings), 1 Corinthians 9:11
- Not honouring your man of God can hinder your prayers and breakthroughs in different aspects of your life
- Read about Elisha and the Shunammite woman (2 Kings 4:8-37)
Can I pay my tithe to my preferred person (man of God)?
- No! The tithe belongs to the Church (the Body of Christ)
- It is your church that provides you with spiritual covering and spiritual nourishment in general
- If you divert your tithe to a man rather than the church, it’s like you are stealing the church’s money
- Instead, give gift offerings directly to the man of God, as God uses him to bless you
- If you have withheld or diverted your tithe, you need repent and make restitution wherever possible, Leviticus 27:30-31
How can I increase my faith?
- Faith comes by hearing God!
- Faith grows in the atmosphere of your communion with God and fellowship with other believers
- Faith is purified and edified in the atmosphere of fasting and prayer
- Romans 10:17, Isaiah 40:28-31
