Hebrews 11:1-6, Proverbs 3:1-6, 2 Timothy 2:11-13
What is hope in general?
- Hope is an expectation of something desired
- To have no desire is to have no hope
- Flimsy or gambling hope is based on chance (luck)
- Substantial hope is based on evidence or experience
What is faith in general?
- Faith is believing and trusting
- Faith is assurance and conviction, Hebrews 11:1 ESV
- All types of faith are based on knowledge (prior information)
- Everything you know is based on information you have received or experienced in the past and have come to believe and accept as true
What is the God-kind of faith?
- Knowing the mind of God and agreeing with it
- Knowing the will of God and pursuing it to a fruitful outcome
- The God-kind of faith is based on the Word of God
- The God-kind of faith is based on the righteous character of God
- The God-kind of faith is based on the faithfulness of God
- God is faithful to His Word and His righteous character

How can I get the God-kind of faith?
- Faith comes by hearing (paying attention to) the Word of God
- Faith comes by hearing (paying attention to) God
- Faith grows in the atmosphere of fellowship with true believers
- Romans 10:17, Proverbs 4:20-22, Hebrews 10:25
What is the difference between natural faith and the God-kind of faith?
- Natural faith is based on knowledge acquired from your physical senses (sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste)
- The God-kind of faith is based knowledge acquired from your spiritual (innermost, supernatural) senses

- Faith is persevering in God’s will
