Ephesians 6:10-18
How can I keep the devil out of my life according to Ephesians 6:10-18?
- Put on every piece of God’s armour!
- The armour is not there automatically; you have to put it on
- It is not enough to have faith alone; you have to put on every piece
- Doing some things right and leaving others undone leaves you vulnerable to the attacks of the devil. Read Matthew 23:23
What are two most important pieces of the your defensive armour against the attacks of the enemy?
- The Body Armour protects your trunk (heart and other vital organs)
- The Helmet protects your head (brain)
What is your spiritual body armour and how does it work?
- Your spiritual body armour is righteousness, Ephesians 6:14
- Righteousness can be robustly defined as right standing with God (faith) which results in right living (obedience), James 2:14,26
- The foundation of righteousness is the blood of Jesus and the value of the blood is the forgiveness of your sins, Colossians 1:13-14
- You work out righteousness by repentance, faith and obedience!
- Rebellion and disobedience opens the door to the devil
- The antidote to rebellion and disobedience is quick repentance
- Read Ephesians 4:26-27 and 1 John 1:8-9
What is your spiritual helmet and how does it work?
- Your spiritual helmet is salvation, Ephesians 6:17
- The foundation of salvation is the Name of Jesus, Acts 4:2
- The Name of the Lord is a strong tower, Proverbs 18:10
- The Name of Jesus (Yeshua) is salvation, Matthew 1:21
- Do not dishonour the Name, Exodus 20:7, Matthew 6:9
- Use the Name to resist and rebuke the devil
- Use the Name to resist and rebuke evil influence
- Use the Name to dominate sickness and disease
- Use the Name to dominate oppression and depression
- Use the Name to speak to your mountain
- Read Mark 16:17-18
