What is my spiritual girdle (belt) and how does it work?
- Your spiritual girdle (belt) is truth
- Firm up your life with truth
- Tighten your loose ends with truth
- Prepare against the evil one by living for truth, John 14:6
- Avoid tripping yourself up by practicing the truth, 1 John 1:6-9
- Pay attention in order to know the truth, Proverbs 4:20-22
- Determine not to deceive yourself or others, 2 Timothy 3:13
- The truth you know shall make you free!
- The truth will enable you to move with maximum agility without tripping up in battle, John 8:31-32
What is truth?
- The Word is Truth – the Word sanctifies you, John 17:17
- You have to continue in (by applying yourself to) the Word in order to know the Truth, John 8:31-32
- Truth is sound doctrine based on a balanced knowledge of the Word, 2 Timothy 4:1-5
- All scripture (from Genesis to Revelation) is useful. Focusing only on one part will make you unbalanced, 2 Timothy 3:16
- Truth progresses from instruction to correction to rebuke to doctrine, 2 Timothy 3:16
- You cannot be established in sound doctrine without applying yourself to instruction, correction and rebuke, 2 Timothy 3:16
- The Logos works within you to achieve sanctification and consecration (spirit, soul and body), Hebrews 4:12
- The Logos works within you to prepare and equip you for every work, 2 Timothy 3:17
